GPS Settings in Lightroom

This applies GPS settings to images via the GPS plug-in. Prerequisites:

  1. GPS track (.gpx file) active during time photos were taken
  2. Track file in d:\temp
  3. Images imported into Lightroom folder

Process

  1. Select Images for geoencoding
  2. Choose File->Plug-in Extras->Geoencode...
  3. Select the Geoencode from Tracklog tab
    1. Select the tracklog for the photowalk
    2. Select the "Add map url" and "enable automatic writeback..." options
    3. Select "process those images that do not have "real" Exif GPS date"
    4. Select the Geoencode Button
  4. A dialog box will come back with images written, success, etc
  5. When done, select the Dismiss buttom

Errors

If some images don't have entries, it may be due to track points being too far away (time-wise). Refine the selection in Lightroom of just these images and increase the fuzziness factor from 120 seconds to something that makes sense.
